VISIT ISLA MUJERES OFF THE COAST OF CANCUN

When thinking of Mexico, many people immediately think of the Caribbean coast and all of the amazing beaches, both popular and off the beaten path. The isle of Isla Mujeres, located approx 9.8 km off the coast of Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico is one of the most amazing and must see places in the Yucatan Peninsula, with a secluded and serene atmosphere that attracts people from all over the world.
This small Caribbean island, with a population of just over 22,000 people, is a place of culture, adventure and breathtaking natural beauty.
The island itself is only seven miles long and a little over half a mile wide. Isla Mujeres is mostly surrounded by white sand and the crystal blue waters of both the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean sea, making it the perfect beach destination. This picturesque island is steeped in history and culture and is filled with unique sights and activities that will leave visitors with a lifetime of memories.
The best beach on the island is Playa Norte. It is one of the most popular beaches in Mexico due to its crystal clear turquoise waters, white sand, and amazing sunsets. The beach is known for its calm and shallow waters, perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding or simply relaxing by the shore. It’s not uncommon to spot sea turtles or nurse sharks in the shallow waters. Along the beach, visitors can enjoy the local restaurants and bars or rent a bike or golf cart to explore the island. There are several spots to post up at with beach chairs and hammocks and veryone is sure to find a perfect spot for the day. Playa Norte is the perfect spot for a relaxing day of sun, sea, and memories.
